Itafos - Cayman Islands

Itafos, formerly MBAC Fertilizer Corp, is a Canadian firm that produces phosphate-based fertilizers and related products. It specializes in fertilizer operations, management, marketing and finance. The company owns and operates the Itafos-Arraias SSP Operations, which is an integrated fertilizer production facility located in Central Brazil. This facility consists of a phosphate mine, mill, beneficiation plant, sulphuric acid plant, SSP plant, granulation plant, and other related infrastructure. In addition, Itafos has a few exploration projects in Brazil, such as the Santana Project. This is a high-grade phosphate deposit located in the vicinity of the Mato Grosso State fertilizer market and Para State animal feed market. The other exploration project is the Araxa Project, which is a high-grade rare earth elements, niobium and phosphate deposit located close to two existing mines.
